BCT: First Aid/Land Nav

Land Navigation, First aid and the start of Bayonet training was our next course of action to complete at BCT.
We took classes before each, road marching to the location one day -then marching another day to another location for the real thing.
First Aid was no problem learning and it took a single day to teach in all.
Apparently the most deaths in Iraq are caused by open wounds with bleeding that the rescuer doesn't know how to control. You think that if they know this, they might want to doubly make sure we understand their teachings and drill us again a second day. But no, they cram it all into one session with how to open an airway,

BCT: Victory Tower

Our very first challenge in BCT was Victory Tower.
And it was just like its name credit's it: a big-ass tower of 40 feet tall in which we were to climb, maneuver and rappel off of at high speed intervals.
I have to admit, that once I got up there, I was scared shitless. But I did as was required of me and had a lot of fun in the end.
First you were to swing on this rope-thing (ground level), landing on the other side of a ditch. Obviously this didn't pose any challenge at all, but they needed us to know how to correctly place our feet because there was another one just like this at the top of the tower.
